On the streets where we lived
May 15, 2010
It is plainly being historical traveling on the once swampy areas of some of Manila’s now district 5. Antonino recalls bathing in the swamp. Joe Mistades talked about the catwalks. That was over five decades ago. Today, re-elected Konsehala Josie M. Siscar held a victory parade thanking her constituents for their support and voting her as their number one city councilor five days ago. Starting off from Anak Bayan to Zobel to Estrada to Dagonoy and the densely populated areas of Manila’s district 5, our class 66 joined the motorcade that traveled through the streets where we [once] lived.
Josie M. Siscar Wins
May 11, 2010
Josephine Mariano Siscar won as Councilor of District 5 in Manila in the country’s first automated elections held May 10, 2010. This will be her 2nd term. Right after winning her first in 2007, Konsehala Josie served her constituency with regular feeding programs [where we participated once], aerobic exercises and basketball clinics, medical missions, cleaning and clearing up clogged drainages, street lighting, and recently authoring the ordinance that will build low-cost 5-storey residential buildings in some areas of District 5, among others. She also participates actively in our AHS Class 66 like the scholars’ project. The above-mentioned programs made Konsehal Josie very popular, spreading like wildfire among almost all segments of the district 5 population. When asked who will they vote for during the campaign period, majority replied, "Siscar kami."
Unlike the other city councilors, Josie worked from day 1 in 2007 up to the last days of her first term. And true enough, her efforts and endeavors paid off with an easy win in May 10. Josie M. Siscar has a tract record of being the most medaled Barangay Chairman in Manila. The City Councilor’s office is a continuation of her public service covering a bigger constituency in Manila’s District 5.

My birthday was kinda unusual because I celebrated the occasion far away from home. It was not as grand as the others that I see in our website, but was grand just the same. It was private with just me, my daughter Sarah, my oldest brother and his family. But I had a blast. My oldest brother invited me and my daughter to their home in Geneva, Switzerland. (My husband and my son couldn’t make it.) He also gifted me (for my birthday) and my daughter (for completing her 2 Masters Degrees) a one-week trip to Rome, Italy. see the pictures

Second meeting
February 6, 2010
We met again in preparation for the grand alumni homecoming & reunion, this time at the residence of Cynthia Morales Matias in Moonwalk subdivision, Las Piñas City. Fruit bearing mango trees in the backyard made our picnic meeting very refreshing, far from the polluted city environment in Manila. Cynthia asked us to meet there and we sure made her day happy. She is presently on leave from her work as General Manager of Alabang Country Club for medical reasons. more>>
